Course Overview

The IT Project Capstone is an intensive, hands-on programme designed to synthesise and apply the knowledge and skills acquired throughout a cloud computing or penetration testing curriculum into a comprehensive project. Focused on real-world applicability, this capstone course challenges trainees to design, develop, and deliver a significant project in one of two key areas: Penetration Testing Campaign or Cloud Computing Solution.

This programme emphasises practical experience, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, preparing the trainees to tackle complex IT challenges while ensuring they can manage a project from inception to closure.

Course Objectives

Upon completion of this course, trainees should be able to demonstrate their skills and knowledge to:

• Design a plan for Penetration Testing Campaign or Cloud Computing Solution.

• Develop a comprehensive capstone project plan, including determining the scope of work, preparing initial documents, and obtaining stakeholder sign-off.

• Execute the capstone project by performing the defined scope of work, managing communications with stakeholders, and documenting the completed activities.

• Finalise the capstone project by delivering the final report and securing sign-off for project closure.

• Conduct a comprehensive review of individual phases and post-implementation outcomes in the capstone project.



Course Learning Outcome

Upon completion of this course, trainees should be able to demonstrate their skills and knowledge to:

• Articulate a range of cybersecurity tools and technologies, including vulnerability scanners and penetration tools.

• Analyse cybersecurity practices' legal and ethical implications, including privacy laws, data protection regulations, and ethical standards for cybersecurity professionals.

• Conduct risk assessments to identify potential cybersecurity vulnerabilities and develop strategies for mitigating those risks.

• Document the assessments results and findings.

• Craft and execute a capstone presentation that aligns with the project methodology, findings, and outcomes.


Pre-requisites

Participants should have a foundational understanding of IT and cybersecurity concepts, along with some experience in project management or execution. Completion of coursework in IT, cybersecurity, cloud computing, or penetration testing is highly recommended.

• Certificate in IT Infrastructure and Operations; OR

• Mature candidates (≥ 30 years old with 8 years’ work experience in an ICT-related field); OR

• Candidates with other qualifications will be considered on a case-by-case basis
