Course Overview

This capstone project provides learners with the opportunity to apply their knowledge and skills in auditing or designing IT infrastructure within a real-world context. Participants will utilise cybersecurity tools such as vulnerability scanners and penetration testing technologies to assess IT environments. The project also emphasises analysing the legal and ethical implications of cybersecurity practices, including compliance with privacy laws and data protection regulations.

Learners will conduct comprehensive risk assessments, develop mitigation strategies, and document their findings through detailed reports. The course culminates in a capstone presentation where participants showcase their project methodology, key findings, and outcomes, demonstrating their readiness to contribute to organisational IT infrastructure and cybersecurity initiatives.

Course Learning Outcome

Upon completion of this course, trainees should be able to:

• Articulate a range of cybersecurity tools and technologies, including vulnerability scanners and penetration tools.

• Analyse cybersecurity practices' legal and ethical implications, including privacy laws, data protection regulations, and ethical standards for cybersecurity professionals.

• Conduct risk assessments to identify potential cybersecurity vulnerabilities and develop strategies for mitigating those risks.

• Document the assessments results and findings.

• Craft and execute a capstone presentation that aligns with the project methodology, findings, and outcomes.


Pre-requisitess

Participants should have an advanced knowledge of cybersecurity, network security and management, cybersecurity laws and ethics, and risk management in information systems.
